Mental Health First Aid Certification Training is a ground breaking public education program that helps the public identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illness. An estimated one in four Americans has a diagnosable mental illness. Mental Health First Aiders are often the first line of support. Your body language, what you say, and how you say it can have a powerful impact. You can make a difference!

Facilitator: Lee Berlinquette is a Duluth native. She worked in the Youth Services field at Lutheran Social Services for 15 years, and managed Bethany Crisis Shelter where she worked with truancy and first time juvenile offenders. Lee has been teaching Mental Health First Aid on a local and regional level through UMD Continuing Education since June 2013. As of March 2014, Lee will become a National Trainer for Mental Health First Aid, and will be training future instructors across the United States.
