"Ditch Your Drugs: Ways to lower your medication through healthy eating"

Medications can be costly and unpleasant, but what if there were a way to reduce your dose or eliminate them completely? Join Pharmacist Keri Hager and Registered Dietitian Nutritionist Jean Rodvold for a presentation on ways to lower your medication through healthy eating. Healthy lifestyle changes can help reduce or eliminate medications for dyslipidemia (high cholesterol, high LDL, or low HDL), elevated triglycerides, hypertension (high blood pressure), or Type 2 Diabetes. If you are not on any medications, the strategies they will discuss can also be applied to reducing risk for disease and prevention of Cardiovascular disease, Diabetes, and Stroke.

Keri and Jean both work for the UMD Employee Health and Wellness Center. Keri is the pharmacist for the Medication Therapy Management program and Jean is the Food Coach for the Health Coaching program.
