Tech Talk +

Date: 12/20/2012

Time: 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM

Location: 333 Kirby Student Center (KSC)

Cost: Free (please register w/ LeAne Rutherford)

Description:

Tech Talk + meetings, held 4 or 5 times each semester over lunch, are a fine way to keep in touch with what is happening in the interface between teaching, learning, and technology. These meetings are a place to exchange ideas, gain inspiration, view demonstrations, evaluate effectiveness, mull things over, and ask all the questions you have regarding learning vis a vis technology, both in and out of the classroom. We mull over many technological topics: tech benefits and drawbacks, YouTube potential, options at UMD, the "cloud," online opportunities, social media, devices.... In what ways is technology transforming what we do?

"This is a great opportunity to see what is happening outside our own little worlds. It offers the chance to make contacts with others who have the expertise or connections that each of us may need.”
